These are the totals coming from the people who have recently enrolled this year and who got renewed automatically on policies they picked last 2014. Among those enrolees, 142,905 came from Tampa Bay area.

According to regional director Pamela Roshell of the US Department of Health & Human Services, she’s persuaded by the on-going progress including the positive response of the American public for this health insurance call.

The Health & Human Services that administers the program on health insurance called “Obamacare,” has released the detailed stats down to ZIP codes individually as the allowed period for signing-up winds down. It started November 15 last year and continues until February 15 of this year.

Now here are the things to see from the number coming from the Health & Human Services:

  1. Approximately 9.5 million people all over the nation chose a plan or got re-enrolled automatically in the state market last January 16, to date. This met the federal goal resulting to 9 million up to 10 million sign-ups for this year 2015.

The huge numbers from the state of Florida came in spite of the stand done by the lawmakers of the state, keeping themselves off the Democratic program of the president. The Legislature and Gov. Tick Scott went against the effort in enlarging the Medicaid—a big factor of the Obamacare Health Insurance sign-up which requires the approval of the state.
